Caribbean Grill Owner Receives '40 Under 40' Award
August 9, 2015
CHAMPAIGN, Illinois (August 9, 2015) – Caribbean Grill and CG Signature Events Catering owner Mike Harden has been named to Central Illinois Business Magazine's annual '40 Under 40' awards list.
Central Illinois Business Magazine publishes its annual list of 40 young professionals in the region who are considered leaders in their fields and in the community. Harden says he is humbled to be recognized for his professional achievements so far. “Being an entrepreneur, especially in food service, is extremely challenging work. It feels good to know that my efforts and the efforts of my team are being noticed. We have a very hard working group,” says Harden.
Harden, 32, began his career in entrepreneurship in 2010, starting the Caribbean Grill concept as a vendor at the annual Taste of Champaign-Urbana festival, initially as market research to see if there was local demand for the type of cuisine he wanted to offer. “The response was clear,” Harden says. “We could barely keep up with the lines the very first time we served Caribbean Grill's menu. We knew then that something special had been created.” Up next for Caribbean Grill will be the launch of their food truck, planned for a late summer debut.
'40 Under 40' awardees are nominated each year, with a panel of distinguished judges making the final determination of winners.
