Caribbean Grill Voted 2014 Taste of Champaign-Urbana Best Food Vendor
September 4, 2014

CHAMPAIGN, Illinois (September 4, 2014) – Long lines, Twitter hash tags, and Facebook photos seemed to be the trend for Caribbean Grill at the 2014 Taste of Champaign-Urbana festival. The feedback?: overwhelmingly positive. Organizers of this year's event, the Champaign Park District, decided to take things a step further and announced that awards would be given to top performing vendors, as chosen by the people attending the local festival.

Patrons of the 2014 edition of the event were encouraged to text message their food favorites to designated numbers, officially setup by the Champaign Park District. Votes were then tabulated and the results recently revealed to festival vendors, via an email from the event's coordinator.

Out of 23 local restaurants, food trucks, and other food establishments, Caribbean Grilled earned top honors by being voted as the Best Food Vendor at the August 15-16, 2014 event. Annually, the Taste of Champaign-Urbana attracts more than 30,000 patrons over the span of the festival. 2014 is the first year that awards have been given to vendors, and the fifth appearance by Caribbean Grill at the festival, who's business debuted at the 2010 Taste event.

Chester's BBQ of Champaign was also recognized, with wins in the Best Food Truck and Champaign Park District Staff Favorite categories.

Caribbean Grill's menu features authentic, scratch-made recipes that include jerk chicken, rice 'n peas, sweet fried plantains, pineapple rum cake, and a number of other Jamaican influenced entrées, side dishes, and beverages.
