Second Time is a Charm for Caribbean Grill: Top Honors at 2012 'Taste of the Town'

CHAMPAIGN, Illinois (February 27, 2012) - 2012 turned out to be a good year for the Taste of the Town Champaign Fire and Police Memorial fundraiser and Caribbean Grill alike. For the second year in a row, Caribbean Grill took home top honors in the event's "People's Choice" food awards.

With 30 food and merchandise vendors on hand, the fundraiser attracted a crowd of over 250 guests to sample the wares of local caterers and restaurants, while entertainment was offered through a live band, raffle, and silent auction. Near the close of the event, food award winners were announced.

Caribbean Grill Executive Chef and Owner Mike Harden stood by anxiously, waiting to hear the results. "This is an event that we now look forward to participating in annually," said Harden of the fundraiser. "Even more exciting is the fact that the people have recognized Caribbean influenced cuisine as one of their local favorites."

With catering services currently being offered to all of Champaign County, and ongoing plans to open a store-front restaurant, Caribbean Grill is sure to continue treating is customers to a unique culinary experience.
