General Catering FAQ

Where is Caribbean Grill located?
Currently, Caribbean Grill proudly offers catering services only, to all of Champaign County, Illinois. However, we are working hard to establish a restaurant location in the Urbana-Champaign area.

Does Caribbean Grill Catering travel?
Yes we do! A minimum food order of $499.00 is required, not including tax or gratuity. Orders are also subject to a $.49 cents per mile round trip mileage fee, up to 150 miles. Please contact us today for further details.

Will my order be delivered or can I pick it up?
For Casual and Standard catering, you can choose to pick up your order from our commercial kitchen or have it delivered. A 9.75% Illinois state sales tax, and a 15% gratuity will also be added to your final invoice, ensuring superior service.

What is it going to cost for Caribbean Grill to cater my event?
The pricing for Casual and Standard catering orders is very straightforward and can be calculated directly from our catering menu (plus tax and gratuity). Formal catering service requires a bit more information to determine accurate pricing. This is based on the number of attendees, menu, venue, staff, and any rentals that may be necessary. Please contact us today to arrange your next formal catered event.

Is there a minimum amount of food I have to order?
For Casual and Standard Catering there is a $149.00 minimum food order. Click here to view our menu. For Splendid Occasions Formal Events and the All-American BBQ Cookout & Tailgate menus, a 50 guest minimum is required.

Is a catering contract required?
A contract is required for all catered events with an investment greater than $499.00. A deposit may also be required to reserve your date. This goes towards procuring ingredients, consultations, staffing, and other costs incurred by Caribbean Grill, leading up to your event. You will receive a written quotation outlining all requested services and related costs prior to the deposit being paid. The remaining balance is required no less than seven (7) business days before your scheduled event.

How far in advance do I need to place my order?
Casual and Standard catering orders can be fulfilled with as little as 48-72 hours notice. Formal catering events require much more advance notice in order to secure your date, select a menu, finalize the contract, etc. The further in advance Caribbean Grill is contacted about catering your special event, the better we will be able to accommodate your needs.

Can I pay using a credit card or personal check?
Yes, payment via credit card is accepted and is subject to a 3% processing fee. Personal checks are also accepted. Payment must be made in advance for either method.

Can I pay using a purchase order?
Some groups require the use of a purchase order system to pay vendors. Caribbean Grill will provide you with an invoice as soon as your order is finalized. We ask that the purchase order is initiated as quickly as possible, for prompt payment to be made.
